Biography

Dr. Ssuuna James holds a PhD from Sokoine University of Agriculture in Tanzania with a bias in ecological statistics. He has a key interest in the use of robust statistical analysis, including survival analysis and logistic regression models. James has previously done a number of studies involving the use of robust statistical analytical techniques to examine factors that could affect: Species composition, abundance, and diversity, survival analysis, home range, and breeding status. He holds a Master of Statistics from Makerere University in Uganda, specializing in Biostatistics, Data analysis and modeling, also holds a Degree of Bachelor of science with Education from Kyambogo University in Uganda (First class).
He has worked as Lecturer for a number of courses at University level including; Introductory statistics, Inferential statistics, Applied statistics, Quantitative methods in environment, Data analysis and modeling, Biostatistics, and Design and analysis of experiments, Probability and decision theory, Mathematical concepts, Agriculture and environment, econometrics, Macroeconomics, intermediate microeconomics, Production economics, and Advanced microeconomics. Besides, he has vast knowledge in Quantitative research methodologies (Data modeling), use of statistical packages (STATA, SPSS, Excel, Basic R). Such academic background and professional experience have helped him to mentor many undergraduate scholars and develop better skills in empirical research and applied data analysis techniques.
