
Dr James Peter Egonyu is Associate Professor of Agricultural Entomology and the current Dean of Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Sciences at Busitema University. He is a Fellow of Uganda National Academy of Sciences; and a member of the Entomological Association of Uganda and the Association of African Insect Scientists. He served as a Research Scientist at the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe); Lecturer of Entomology and Research Methods at Makerere University; Research Officer in Crop Entomology at the National Coffee Research Institute; and Agricultural Inspector at the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries, Uganda. James holds BSc in Agriculture (First-class) and MSc (Crop Science) from Makerere University; and PhD (Agricultural Entomology) from University of Nairobi. He has over 65 peer reviewed publications, mostly on edible insects. James has mentored several PhD, MSc and undergraduate scholars. He received a leading researcher award during the 15th Busitema University Graduation.
