Moses Egor is an educationist and a chemist by training. He is a PhD student at Mbarara university of Science and technology (MUST). He holds a Masters in chemistry from Makerere University and Bachelor's of Science Education majoring in chemistry from Mbarara University of science and technology. He is currently a lecturer in the Department of chemistry, Faculty of Science and Education, Busitema University . He is the Examinations coordinator at the Department of Chemistry a responsibility he has held since 2015. Born and raised in a village in Kalaki District, He went to Kaberamaido Township Primary School and later completed his O' level from Soroti S.S. He completed A' level from Teso College Aloet, from where he joined Mbarara university for his bachelor’s degree. He has over 15 years' working experience in teaching and research both at higher education and secondary school. Before joining Busitema University, he served as a chemistry and biology teacher in several secondary schools in Uganda including Kyeizooba Girls’ S.S; Katooke S.S; Kyebambe Girls’ S.S; Bwera S.S; among others. He has a wide experience in teaching chemistry both at secondary school and University levels, where he has mentored a number of student. He has been trained in adsorption modelling and characterization from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. His research interest is in materials for pollution remediation and energy storage as well as the environmental chemistry of water. He is proficient in several computer-related work, including online teaching and learning and scholarly writing. His current PhD research revolves around the synthesis and characterization of cellulose-based nanosorbents for fluoride removal from water. As a chemist, he hopes to contribute to the development of novel nanomaterials for water treatment as well as train and mentor more students in the field.
