Biography

Dr.Barbara Kabwiga Asingwire is an academic and researcher specializing in Internet of Things (IoT), embedded computing systems, and communication networks. She holds a PhD in IoT–Embedded Computing Systems, with research focused on the architectural design, performance analysis, and optimization of IoT-based healthcare traffic systems. She also earned a master’s degree in data communication and software engineering, where her dissertation examined delay modelling of VoIP traffic in wireless mesh networks, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management. She began her academic career with a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering.

She has extensive teaching and academic experience, serving as a Lecturer and researcher at Busitema University. Her work involves teaching, curriculum development, research supervision, and coordinating academic programs, alongside supporting student learning and institutional research initiatives.

Her research contributions are widely published in reputable journals and international conferences, particularly in areas such as IoT-based healthcare systems, wireless sensor networks, cloud computing, and network performance modelling. Her work emphasizes delay-sensitive systems, priority queuing models, and emerging applications like digital twins in education.

Beyond academia, Barbara is passionate about advancing communication technologies, public speaking, policy development, and knowledge sharing.
