Dr. Oyem Onyekachukwu Anselm is a Senior Lecturer in Mathematics at Busitema University, Uganda, with extensive experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership. He has taught at several institutions in Nigeria and Uganda, including the Federal University Lokoja, Uganda Christian University, and the Islamic University in Uganda, where he contributed significantly to curriculum development and student mentorship.
Dr. Oyem began his academic career as a Teaching Assistant at the Federal University of Technology Akure (2010–2012) and progressed through the ranks at the Federal University Lokoja, where he served as Assistant Lecturer, Lecturer II, Lecturer I, and later Senior Lecturer between 2012 and 2023.
He has contributed extensively to scholarly literature with numerous peer-reviewed publications and has participated in and led funded research projects, including TETFund-supported studies in mathematical modeling and applied sciences.
Beyond teaching and research, Dr. Oyem has held several administrative and leadership roles, including Chairperson of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) at Federal University Lokoja and Editor-in-Chief of the Islamic University Multidisciplinary Journal. He has actively contributed to curriculum development, accreditation processes, and academic governance in multiple institutions.
Dr. Oyem is a member of several professional bodies, including the Mathematical Association of Nigeria, Nigerian Mathematical Society, and regional mathematical societies in Africa. He is also committed to community service, mentorship, and advancing STEM education.
His dedication to academic excellence, integrity, and student development continues to make significant contributions to higher education and research in Africa.
