Biography

Assoc. Prof. Kakuba Sultan Juma is a scholar of political science and public administration, currently teaching in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, Faculty of Social Sciences, Kyambogo University and a visiting lecturer at Busitema, Department of Economics and Management, and previously served as a visiting Lecturer, Zanzibar University. He earned his Ph.D. in Political Science (Public Administration and Management) from International Islamic University Malaysia, a master’s degree in political science from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, and a postgraduate diploma in higher education teaching from Islamic University in Uganda.

He has accumulated over twenty years of experience in both teaching and academic leadership, holding roles such as Head of Department, Dean, Deputy Dean, and Postgraduate Programme Coordinator. His scholarly interests include governance, electoral democracy, political economy, and environmental politics.

Assoc. Prof. Kakuba has an extensive publication record in reputable international journals and books, addressing issues such as elections, conflict, public administration, and development in Africa. He has led and contributed to funded research on wetlands management, food security, and urban violence.
