Biography

Dr. Richard Cliffe Ssenyunzi is a physicist and educationist with more than a decade of experience in university teaching, research, and curriculum development. Since joining Busitema University in 2010, he has risen through the academic ranks to become a Senior Lecturer. His academic and research expertise spans atmospheric sciences, GNSS meteorology, and space physics, with a strong emphasis on computational modelling and the application of Earth Observation data in scientific research and education.

Throughout his career, Dr. Ssenyunzi has played a significant role in advancing competence-based education and curriculum transformation in higher education. He has contributed extensively to the design and development of competence-based curricula aligned with the standards and frameworks of the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) and institutional strategic priorities. As a member of the University Competence-Based Education (CBE) Task Force, he actively supports curriculum reform, policy implementation, and innovative teaching practices.

In addition to his academic responsibilities, he is deeply involved in postgraduate supervision, interdisciplinary research, and the development of AI-enabled learning systems aimed at enhancing teaching, learning, and research outcomes. His work reflects commitment to scientific innovation, educational excellence, and the integration of emerging technologies into higher education.
