Joseph KB Matovu

Joseph KB Matovu holds a Ph.D. in Public Health from Makerere University; a Master of Health Science (MHS) in International Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Baltimore, MD, USA; and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and Social Administration(SWSA) from Makerere University, Kampala,Uganda. Dr Matovu is a Behavioral Research Scientist with 24 years’ experience in the design and implementation of social, behavioral and epidemiologic research; an author of 89 peer-reviewed, scientific papers; a peer reviewer with many international scientific journals and conferences; an Associate Editor with AIDS and Behavior and BMC Public Health and an Academic Editor with PLoS ONE. Dr. Matovu has taught at University level since 2009 and has supervised 26 students since then,19 of whom have since completed their Master’s level training while the other seven (7) students are at different levels of developing their dissertation research proposals; collecting data, or writing their dissertation reports. Dr. Matovu is a Senior Lecturer at Busitema University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Community and Public Health and a Senior Research Associate within the Department of Disease Control and Environmental Health at Makerere University School of Public Health (MakSPH). Dr Matovu is a Career Development Fellow supported by the European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP) based in the Netherlands.
