Dr. Annet Kyomuhangi is a senior lecturer in the department of mathematics, faculty of science and education, Busitema University, Uganda. She completed her PhD studies at Makerere University in 2022, supervised by Prof. David Ssevviiri and Prof. Alex Samuel Bamunoba. She's passionate about teaching and research with her research areas in Module theory, Torsion Theory, Radical theory and Cohomology. She is also interested in Algebraic geometry.
She is a confounder and Deputy convenor of the African Women in Algebra. She has been involved in many mathematics activities such as activities for Eastern Africa Algebra research group, EAUMP-ICTP (2017-2023), Africa Algebraic Geometry group, coordinating the Uganda Mathematics Society (UMS) activities for Rubirizi district and Busitema University, organizing Mathematics runs and camps under Eastern Africa Network for Women in Basic sciences (EANWoBAS), Uganda Women Mathematicians (AWoM), organizing workshops and moderating seminars for African Women in Algebra (AWA), organizing Women in Sage Workshop at Makerere University in 2023, the CIMPA School at Makerere University in 2025.
Besides Mathematics, she is passionate about the welfare of individuals and mentoring the young ones which have led her to being on different committees for welfare and a mentor for FAWE-U students. She is also an advisor for Katerera Education forum and a Mothers Union member where marriage and children upbringing in Godly way are key.
