Biography

Dr. Asaph Keikara Muhumuza , Lecturer of both pure and Applied Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science and Education, Nagongera Campus, Busitema University, Uganda.  He holds Bachelor of Science with Education, Bsc. Ed.(Maths/Chem), degree of Makerere University  (Mak), Master of Science, MSc. in Mathematics , degree of Makerere (Mak) and a Doctoral of Philosophy Degree, PhD. , in mathematics of Mälardalen University (MUD), Västerås, Sweden.
Dr. A. K. Muhumuza's Mathematical expertise focuses mainly in Mathematical Analysis, Numerical Analysis and Optimization as demonstrated in his Ph.D. Thesis title, "Extreme points of the Vandermonde determinant in numerical approximation, random matrix theory and financial mathematics." He has taught numerous  mathematics courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate level including: Calculus I, Calculus II, Calculus III,  Elements of Mathematics, Elements of PRobability and Statistics, Linear Algebra I, Linear Algebra II, Real Analysis I, Abstract Algebra, Probability Theory, Ordinary Differential Equations (ODE), Differential Equations II, Functional Analysis, Stochastic Processes, Partial Differential Equations (PDEs), Continuum Mechanics, Numerical Solutions of PDEs, Methods of Mathematical Physics, and Computational Fluid dynamics (CFD). He has also guided, mentored and supervised students in research at undergraduate and Masters level. He has been involved in review and developing new of Mathematics programmes currently running in the department of Mathematics. Above all  he is actively involved in research groups including Partial Differential Equations and Applications, PDE-APP.
