Biography

Dr. Opio Peter is a lecturer at Busitema University, Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Production currently serving as the Ag. Head of Department for Crop Production and Management. He holds a Ph.D. in Horticultural Sciences from Chiba University, Japan, and an MSc in Post-harvest Technology from King Mongkut’s University of Technology, Thailand. His research interests encompass horticultural plant physiology, postharvest technology of fruits, vegetables, and grains, quality assessment of fruits and vegetables, as well as seed science and technology.

Dr. Peter's expertise is evidenced by his numerous publications in reputable journals and presentations at international conferences. He has received recognition for his contributions, including the Busitema University Research and Innovation Fund grant as well as being Recogonised as the Most outstanding Lecturer at his Faculty for the year 2023.
