Dr. Mafumbo Patrick Wabwire is a distinguished academic, financial expert, and governance specialist with extensive experience in higher education, banking, and public sector consulting. He currently serves as a Senior Lecturer at Busitema University (Visiting) and Victoria University and has held senior leadership roles including Ag. Vice Chancellor / University Secretary and Financial Controller for The East African University, Kenya.
Dr. Wabwire has made significant contributions to curriculum development across Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD programmes, championing competence-based learning and quality assurance systems in universities he has served. He has supervised over 600 undergraduate and postgraduate students and mentored researchers in governance and financial management.
His professional career spans key institutions such as Makerere University, Centenary Bank, and Bank of Africa, where he played pivotal roles in financial systems development, branch expansion, and regulatory compliance. He also consults with Pazel Conroy Consulting Ltd., leading value-for-money audits, local government performance assessments, and development planning.
He chairs the National Audit Committee (Eastern Region) and serves on multiple academic and corporate boards. His achievements include programme accreditation, institutional development, and strengthening quality assurance frameworks in higher education.
